Help Keep Our Community Safe
Getting vaccinated is a safe and effective way to protect you, your family and the local community from contagious diseases. The widespread use of vaccines has successfully helped prevent diseases such as whooping cough, tetanus and diphtheria from spreading throughout the population.
COVID-19, influenza and pneumonia can cause severe ongoing health issues. Vaccinating yourself and your children is an effective method for reducing the likelihood of transmission of these diseases.
‘Herd immunity’ refers to the build-up of immunity within a community that occurs when a high percentage of the population is immunised. These measures help protect people at increased risk of catching the disease, including those who are too young or too sick to be vaccinated.

Deception Bay Doctors is an approved COVID-19 vaccination provider. We are currently accepting bookings for both Astra-Zeneca and Pfizer vaccines.

Influenza & Pneumococcal
We offer all patients an influenza vaccination. Influenza is a highly contagious respiratory illness that affects people of all ages. Getting vaccinated provides the most effective protection against the virus.
You may be eligible for a government-funded influenza vaccine each year. It is essential to get vaccinated annually to safeguard yourself and others from new strains and mutations of the virus. People at an increased risk of complications from influenza include children between six months and five years old, people over the age of 65, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and pregnant women.
Pneumococcal vaccination provides protection against pneumonia. We offer this vaccine to patients we consider to be at higher risk.
Child Immunisations
Throughout childhood, your immune system is still developing. During this period, children are at a heightened risk of contracting serious illnesses. Speak to a doctor or authorised vaccination provider about getting your child immunised against diseases such as chickenpox, diphtheria, influenza, hepatitis B, measles, meningococcal, pneumococcal, tetanus and whooping cough.
Many of these vaccines can be funded through the National Immunisation Program (NIP) or other state and territory programs. We can also administer vaccines for international travel or if your child is at risk of a specific medical condition.
