The medical staff at Deception Bay Doctors can perform minor surgeries for patients throughout Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast and the Moreton Bay region. Minor surgical procedures are minimally invasive and thus require a shorter recovery period. Our doctors often perform minor surgeries laparoscopically or arthroscopically, which involve the insertion of surgical equipment and a small camera into the body. The benefits of a laparoscopy or arthroscopy procedure include less tissue damage and a lower chance of infection.
We also provide superficial procedures where the patient will only require a local anaesthetic to numb the area. These procedures only involve the skin or subcutaneous tissue and do not include penetration of any body cavities.

Our staff utilise our dedicated procedure rooms for all minor surgical procedures at our medical facility. For your convenience, our clinic allows patients to schedule their procedure around their everyday responsibilities, such as work or study.
We undertake all procedures using safe and sterilised equipment. Our doctors and nurses are highly trained and committed to following all health and safety protocols. Before your procedure, your doctor will take the time to help you understand the step-by-step process, as well as any follow-up treatments required. This discussion will include information regarding the potential risks and side effects that may occur due to your procedure. We will also talk you through alternative options.
You may or may not be offered local anaesthetic, depending on the type of surgery or procedure you are having. Our friendly nurses will support you throughout the entire process, addressing any questions or concerns that may arise during your recovery. We will spare no effort to mitigate discomfort wherever possible.
